Centennial Park

This Centennial Park garden was designed to complement the character and craftsmanship of the existing heritage residence while introducing a more contemporary approach to outdoor living. A restrained palette of natural materials, structured geometry and layered planting allows the landscape to feel established and closely connected to the home’s sandstone, brickwork and period detailing.
 

At the rear, the swimming pool forms the centre of a relaxed entertaining garden. A broad shallow ledge for underwater daybeds, integrated spa and the stepped rectangular form make efficient use of the narrow site, while pale stone paving helps the space feel light and generous beneath the established tree canopy.
 

A substantial sandstone wall anchors the pool area, with an oversized arched mirror references the architecture of the original residence. A built-in daybed creates a sheltered place to retreat, while the repetition of arches and masonry throughout the garden helps the new work feel naturally integrated with the home.
 

An adjoining courtyard provides a more intimate outdoor room, centred around a custom sandstone fireplace. Softly arched detailing, textured masonry and surrounding planting create a protected space that can be enjoyed throughout the cooler months.
 

Lush, textural planting combines clipped forms, broad foliage, cascading greenery and seasonal colour, while mature boundary planting provides privacy and a sense of permanence. The result is a series of distinct outdoor spaces that balance heritage character with contemporary family living.
