Freshwater

Set across a steep coastal site, this Freshwater landscape was designed to soften the home’s strong contemporary architecture while embracing the natural sandstone and elevated outlook. Our approach uses layered planting to connect each level of the property, with cascading groundcovers, ornamental grasses and sculptural foliage bringing movement and softness to the concrete structure.
 

At the upper level, a restrained pool terrace allows the expansive district and water views to remain the focus. Pale paving, frameless glass and a simple planting palette create a calm transition between the indoor living areas, outdoor entertaining space and pool.
 

More intimate garden moments are introduced at the lower levels through curved seating, stepping stones, gravel surfaces and carefully positioned feature plants. The result is a refined coastal landscape that balances architectural form with texture, greenery and relaxed outdoor living
