The South Coogee project transformed an underwhelming rooftop courtyard into a warm and inviting entrance to the home. Previously treated as a transient space, the north-facing courtyard offered little reason to pause or appreciate the ocean views beyond.
As renovations progressed, it became clear that the courtyard needed to better support both the architecture and the way the home was experienced. Warm-toned tiles, a timber decking insert and layered balustrade planting were introduced to soften the space through colour, texture and greenery.
The result is a calm, welcoming oasis that enhances the home’s street presence, creates a stronger connection between indoors and out, and gives the family an additional space to relax and entertain.
